Sport
At Langwarrin Primary School, we provide students from Prep to Year 6 with the opportunity to participate in safe, inclusive, and engaging Physical Education lessons. Our Physical Education curriculum is designed to develop a broad range of fundamental movement and sport-specific skills through progressive learning experiences.
Students in Prep to Year 2 focus on building foundational skills such as balance, coordination, running, jumping, throwing, catching, kicking, and striking. These skills are explicitly taught and reinforced through fun, age-appropriate games and activities that promote active participation and enjoyment.
In Years 3 to 6, students consolidate their fundamental skills and begin applying them in structured game situations. Lessons focus on refining technique and introducing game-based strategies through a combination of explicit instruction and guided play. In addition to P.E lessons, our grade 3-6 students participate in school athletics and cross-country days. Our grade 6 students also participate in Summer and winter lightning premierships.
Throughout the year, students explore a variety of key content areas, including Athletics, Invasion Games, Net and Wall Games, and Striking and Fielding Games. Our Physical Education program aims to foster a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity in a supportive and positive environment.
