ISEP (Malayasia Exchange Program)

This year ten students were lucky enough to experience a three week trip of a lifetime in our International School Exchange Program to Malaysia. ISEP is a unique program that runs here at Langwarrin Primary School. Every two years children in Grades 5 and 6 have the opportunity to apply for this incredible program where they travel to our sister school, SK Taman Megah in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to experience their amazing culture and food and meet the most wonderful people. Students are matched with a host family whom they stay with for two weeks to completely immerse themselves in the Malaysian way of life. This year we were treated to sensational excursions and school experiences such as eel catching, rice planting and a trip to the Twin Towers as well as have the opportunity to participate in an International Scrabble Competition and a Robotics Competition. The students are then lucky enough to spend the last five days of the three week program relaxing in Penang, shopping at the night markets, swimming in the pool and tasting the delightful treats that Penang is famous for. The host students from SK Taman Megah then return to Australia to stay with their host brothers and sisters from Langwarrin Primary School. Here we have the opportunity to spoil them with our Australian way of life; treating them to BBQs, visiting Phillip Island and seeing the sights of Melbourne.
